Prolific Burglar Nabbed For Break-Ins At Long Island Businesses, DA Says

A man with a history of arrests is facing more charges after allegedly breaking into several Long Island businesses.

Lameek Dean, age 38, of Hempstead, was arrested following a nine-month investigation into numerous burglaries and larcenies around Nassau County, according to police.

Investigators said the break-ins occurred at the following locations, beginning in early 2022:

  • Bob's Photo at 405 Plandome Road in Manhasset, on March 28;
  • Paris Cleaners at 355 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow, on Aug. 11;
  • Apartment building at 11 South Middle Neck Road in Great Neck, on Sept. 17; and
  • Beacon Electric Corporation at 266 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park, on Nov. 7.

Dean is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of fourth-degree larceny. He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, Dec. 20, at First District Court in Hempstead.

According to police, he was previously arrested in October 2022 on multiple counts of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and fraud.

A judge later ordered him released from jail with no bail.
